Roses Are Red: Still Life in Oil
Painting in oils, students will use classical techniques to paint a rose from life just in time for Valentine’s day.
Students will receive a short primer on drawing and colour. There will be a demonstration and for the rest of the day, students will paint a rose in the alla prima or direct painting style.
Photography will not be used—to capture the essence of life, students will work entirely with real flowers.
